Barbara Wysocka is an actress and a director. She graduated from both the Acting and the Directing departments of the PWST - State Drama School in Krakow. She also studied violin at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg, Germany.
She is currently in the company of the Powszechny Theatre in Warsaw. She has also performed at the Maxim Gorki and the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz in Berlin.
Barbara Wysocka has received many accolades, both for her acting roles and her stage directing work. She has been honoured with a Golden Yorick Award (2016), a Passport Award of the Polityka Weekly (2009), the main acting award in the Competition for the staging of early works of Polish literature in 2015 and the main acting award in the polish contemporary plays competition for “Flights”. The artist is also a founder member of the artistic collective Centrala.
